It never really struck me before, but both places we spend time face the west and the setting sun, and both are on hills with views of water. In the Bay Area we enjoy the bay and the lights at night (note to self -- next week's photo project, a night view), and in Maui we enjoy the sunsets and the stars at night. Symmetry?
