So here we are in the blessedly foggy Bay Area, catching up on all manner of summer activities.
First, the 46th anniversary of our 8th grade graduation reunion. Not many can boast of attending their 46th. A great group, lots of fun, let's do it every year!
Next, a trip to the DeYoung Museum, for the Birth of Impressionist Show. No photos, naturally, but a few other items caught our eyes.
Can you believe that a few years ago I was evicting this artist? I like to think it was the nudge she needed to achieve greatness.
Next, an unexpected visit from friends from France, Victoire and Pauline. We saw all the usual sites together, then they walked the length and breadth of San Francisco -- and the hill to and from our house as well, every other day. We hope they had as much fun as we did.
The Golden Gate above, the Painted Ladies below.
The first American milkshakes to go with the bacon cheeseburgers and blueberry pie.
Muir Woods
Mt. Tamalpias
Exhaustion is achieved!
In the middle we had Margie's birthday -- a picnic at Vasona, then a lovely dinner in Saratoga.
And finally, the No Sale Garage Sale and Brunch, when Tom's cousins Amy (with Steve), Katy, Beth and Meg came to go through stuff from Tom's father's house, sister Maggi's house, and even some stuff of mine. It started slow, but in the end, two cars were packed pretty full of treasures we hope everyone will enjoy. Perhaps we can do it again next year with the items left behind!
And now -- off to France!
