Paris Redux, Day One

Driving into Paris is not to be taken lightly. every time we do it I (the navigator) swear to Tom (the driver) that we will never do it again. And then we do.

Last time I swore never again. But then we did. Even with GPS, it was scary. I figured with GPS if we made a mistake the GPS could undo it easily enough. We might have to go completely around the city on the peripherique, but we could do it. But still...I have a few more white hairs.

But Tom drove us unerringly to our apartment, where we dropped our bags, then left for the life-threatening drive across town to deliver the car to the rental office. (More white hairs.)
Then a quick walk to the metro in the rain, and back to shop for groceries before collapsing in a heap.

Are there pictures of our car trip? No. That would require at least a third person.

The next day, our first full day in Paris, we do what any self-respecting tourist should do, and spent an hour considering our options for lunch, before settling on a bistro near the Marmottan Museum. A quick photo of the Tour Eiffel as we walked to the bistro. No photos in the museum, and I'm at the point where I don't like taking the camera out in restaurants: except for the time in Provincetown where they took me for a food critic, it sort of marks you as a tourist, and a gauche one at that.

So the only photos of day one are of La Fontaine in the park next to the Marmottan. How do you know it is La Fontaine? The fox and other critters with him.
