Concert at the Jacquemart-Andre

During our last visit to Paris, we noticed on the website for the Jacquemart-Andre Museum, one of our favorites, a note about concerts.  A little investigation when we returned to California revealed a series of concerts at the museum.  We would be in town for only two.  We chose one with sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven.  We crossed our fingers as we navigated the website to buy the tickets.  First it required an address in either France or Belgium; what do you now -- we happen to have an address in France.  (Although we are not registered with the post office so would not expect to receive any mail there). Magically, it did not require a French address for a credit card, so that went smoothly.  The next thing you know, we had our receipt, but no idea about tickets or seats or how to get them.

We arrived so early that we had to walk around the block to kill a little time before the doors opened.
Once admitted, we went to the desk and claimed our tickets.  We thought we were ready to settle in for the concert.  But no.  First there was champagne, then canapes, then petit fours.

And, as we sipped, we wandered the halls.  The entire ground floor of the museum was open to us, and lit beautifully with the chandeliers.  By coincidence I had just downloaded the guided tour app for the museum, so we read along as we visited the rooms.  Just as we finished, the doors to the music room opened and we took our seats.

It was all lovely, from beginning to end.
