SF's Asian Art Museum

We managed to find the time for a trip to the Asian Art Museum in SF, to see the exhibit of Afghan Art. We had wanted to go for months, and were concerned that the exhibit would close and move on before we had a chance to see it. And as chance would have it, it had been extended for 2 weeks, so off we went.

No photos of that exhibit, of course, which we found to be badly planned, crowded, and really not a good representation. It consists of artifacts from six tombs and of two storage rooms, showing the mix of objects and styles from the Silk Road. We also found the audio tour to be long-winded and a repetition of what was provided on the walls of the exhibit. But we are glad to have seen it, even if a bit disappointed. Since that exhibit was fairly small, we decided to revisit the rest of the museum.
