Paul and Lin Come A Visiting....

And what a grand time we had!  First on the patented-pending Tom's Hop-off, Hop-on tour, then Chinatown...

 at the Painted Ladies....

on a spectacular walking tour of the City courtesy of Carol, starting with the Wells Fargo History Museum...

Then, just as we thought the touring was over, a trip into SF for a visit to the Asian Art Museum, which featured a temporary exhibit of the Treasures of Taiwan, especially interesting, but of course, no photos allowed of that ....

There was also a special show of mother of pearl laquerware.
The speckled area of the design below is made of skin from a manta ray.

As usual, there was some modern Asian art. these "pebbles" made of enlarged natural forms covered with narrow strips of mother of pearl.
This screen is actually digital, with a flying saucer floating in and out of the scene.
Small teapots -- find the spouts?

And then, too soon for all of us, it was a farewell dinner...

 and sad goodbyes...
