Let's All Sing!

Turkey in the Straw! So there we were, admiring Tom's weed whacking job in the back yard when who should appear but a turkey; we thought a male. He wandered around for a while fluffing his feathers and ruffling his tail (not a Full Monty, but very pretty, anyway). Then a little while later we noticed another turkey, sitting quietly in the grass, but seemingly careful about how she (she?) arranged herself. After a few moments she got up, revealing about 10 chicks, who started wandering around the yard. The male was then quite clearly doing guard duty, with his neck fully extended, looking in all directions. We watched for quite a while. After about an hour they wandered off next door, under or through the wire fence. Pretty darned cool!

OK, now off to France! The shuttle will be here in a couple of hours!
