In Vidin, we visited Belgradchik, a 6th century fortress on a hill with astonishing rock formations. Parts of the fortress date back to the Romans.
We also visited Baba Vida, the only entirely preserved medieval castle in the country.
Some of our number walked back to the ship, but we chose the air conditioned bus.
We stopped to see a ruined church and mosque in the town.
After lunch the ship sailed to Romania.
