On May 11 we boarded our ship, the Ama Certo, for what was to be an unforgettable voyage from the Rhine to the Main, and ultimately the Danube.

A few days in Amsterdam
The next four days in Amsterdam were filled with a lot of sleeping, visits to the Stedelijk Museum, which featured a magnificent temporary exhibition of Matisse collages, and the Van Gogh Museum, which had been closed on our previous trip, and the a road trip a couple of hours south to view a sailboat. We were also delighted that Tom's very distant Dutch cousin Anton made the long trip from his home into Amsterdam to spend an evening with us.
On May 11 we boarded our ship, the Ama Certo, for what was to be an unforgettable voyage from the Rhine to the Main, and ultimately the Danube.
