MOSCOW DAY 3, A CAPPELLA CONCERT

That evening we enjoyed an a capella concert featuring classical and Orthodox church music, in the home of a Russian artist who had a very idiosyncratic approach.

No pictures were permitted in the rooms housing the artist's own works and collection, but the performance space had lots to look at.

His murals contained portraits of many figures from current culture and politics -- the Clintons (and Monica), the Beatles...
and all manner of folks we would have no way to recognize.

The choral group was made up of singers from the opera making a few extra roubles on the side.  They were great, and we loved the whole experience.

The theater was right across the way from the Pushkin Museum.  While the sun did go down while we were there, this was about as dark as it got.

The Cathedral of the Savior was lit up.

And finally, finally, the bus took us back to the hotel and Day 3 was over.
