Jetlagged in Paris

Our overnight flight from SFO was happily uneventful, but without sleep as we each took in 4 movies and just minimal cat naps.  In economy plus we had 4 luxurious extra inches of legroom that made all the difference, although I must report that what passes for food on the United flights isn't really; next time it will be tuna sandwiches for sure.  We'll make a few extra and auction them off to pay for the trip.

So we arrived with particularly virulent jet lag, which we slept off (mostly) over two nights in Paris before heading to the country.  In between we took a long walk across town for a disappointing meal at a normally favorite cafe, Cafe de Madeleine.  After that, we slept until morning, when we pulled ourselves together for the train to La Roche sur Yon.

The Institue of France above, with the new camera fish-eye effect, not entirely successful, at least here.  Or maybe it was just the jet lag.  Pont des Arts below.

There are now so many locks on the bridge that the city has started to put up plywood panels to prevent people from linking new locks onto the old.  There are so many tons of locks that the bridge is in danger of collapsing.

 Views from the bridge.
