La Vendee

Then we headed for La Gite in the Vendee.  (Note to french speakers -- it is La Gite -- un jeu de mots!)  Everything was peaceful, tranquil, and Jeanne's warm hospitality was just the thing to get us feeling back to normal.

Our week in the Vendee was a long , delightful sojourn, punctuated by visits with friends and outings.  One memorable outing was a trip to Les Sables d'Olonne where we enjoyed a spectacular lunch at the Quai des Sauvers and a walk near the beach.

L'Ile Penotte is a small labrynth of passages in the city where mosaics of shells deocate the walls, shutters, window boxes...anything can the artists can find to decorate.

Photos of our spectacular lunch at Quai des Saveurs, recommended to us by Philipe Chevalier of Chevalier in Lafayette, will have to wait, until I figure out how to get them from the smartphone to here!
