Patromoine Visit #6: Lycee Henri IV

The Lycee-Henri IV is an actual high school, near the Pantheon.  It was founded as an abbey in 506, and was part of the Sorbonne as the Latin Quarter developed.  It suffered the usual suppression during and after the revolution, and today serves as a high school for 2500 students.  It must be a little odd to go to high school where there are ancient carvings and Roman mosaics protected by glass panels in the floor.

It had been a long day, and we did not have much energy to devote to the Lycee, unfortunately, especially after another hour long wait.  We took a rest on the benches in the quad and stumbled home.
