Versailles -- On Our way to the Public Rooms

 Leaving the private apartments we went down a long, long, LONG corridor, lined by statues and medallions showing the names of contributors to the restorations of Versailles.  It started with lords and ladies, transitioned to corporations like Chanel, and finally, got into the digital age....Note that Orange (a French cellphone/media empire) contributed in 2010, and Google contributed in 2003.

At the end of the corridor to the left is the Royal Chapel, seen here first from the ground floor, and then from the second floor.  It is used now as a venue for concerts, including organ concerts.  Another objective for a later trip!
